Sustainability Lead for the event

Since 2023, Dr. Anisa has served as the Sustainability Advisor for TEDx at the University of Salford, where she has been instrumental in embedding sustainability principles into the program’s events. She has led the implementation of eco-conscious practices, including zero-waste strategies and sustainable venue operations, setting a benchmark for environmentally responsible TEDx events.


Dr. Anisa’s visionary approach has transformed the event’s framework, ensuring alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and fostering an atmosphere of innovation and accountability in sustainability practices. Her expertise has made TEDx University of Salford a model for integrating sustainability into large-scale, impactful events.


Beyond her work with TEDx, Dr. Anisa holds a Ph.D. in Sustainability from Salford Business School and has built a remarkable career in research, innovation, and advocacy. She is an accomplished author, keynote speaker at the United Nations, and was part of the Business School’s initiatives like the Know Digital Skills platform, which empowers communities with digital skills for sustainable development.
